Ok, I have been given the opportunity to review a really cool product, the Potty Cover, that I wish I would have had when Bug and Super Dude were in the potty training phase, however, these are great even beyond that phase. I am going to write half of this review and then let my lovely kids belts assistant write the rest from the point of view of a potty training mommy.

Here is the description:

PottyCover is a disposable toilet seat cover for children that covers the sides and the front of the toilet, to keep away germs at public rest-rooms.  It is made of non-woven fabric coated with a layer of plastic, creating a waterproof barrier between the toilet and the child. This product has the largest coverage of all seat covers on the market and for added convenience, each seat cover is individually packaged in a small, easy to open bag that makes it super easy to always keep one or two in a purse or a back pocket.

Here is my two cents…

These things are awesome, especially for a germ-conscious mom like me. I hate public bathrooms, no matter how “clean” they may seem, I walk in and see a breeding ground for creepy crawly germs. Ughhh… makes me shudder to think about it. That’s what makes these things so great, the whole germ infested toilet is covered. My sweet little kiddos don’t have to touch any part of it at all and no longer have to try and squat or hover or only touch the toilet paper that we have pointlessly tried to cover the seat with. I, now keep a few of these in my purse at all times. They even come in handy for me, like I said, I have a thing for germs. Now, I just need someone to come up with a door knob cover for when I leave the bathroom… that would be a dream come true…

Ok, so here is my opinion (Jen, the handy dandy assistant):

I love it. I have a 2 ½ year old (Moose) who is potty training and I was terrified to take him to the potty in public (he hasn’t mastered aiming, so he still sits) for fear that he will touch something and then immediately put his hands to his mouth. That grosses me out to even write about it. Moose is a heavy little guy (35lbs) so it’s too hard to try to hold him over the toilet and not get soaked in the process. With this cover I can plop him down and not worry about it. It even has a really long flap in the front so that I don’t have to worry about his legs, clothes or shoes touching the front of the toilet either. Another nice thing is that these aren’t just made of paper, the top is a woven fabric and the bottom is lined with a light plastic. So it doesn’t rip easily like the paper ones you find it restrooms and it creates a waterproof barrier between the seat and Moose. I am thrilled that they are individually wrapped so that they don’t get caught up on everything in my purse and I can grab it ad “go”. :)

A pack of PottyCover sells for $5.99 and it is available on AmazonEbay, all Buy Buy Baby stores around the country and at select Bed Bath & Beyond stores.

So there you have it, we both highly recommend this to anyone with children and anyone who is just germ-conscious! What are you waiting for? Go stock up today! Or win it here!

My daughter is 2 and LOVES to go potty, but only on her terms, which means when it is most inconvenient and when she wants to sit around and “play” on the toilet instead of actually going potty. Spending that much time on the potty means lots of germy opportunities! We’d love a layer of protection. Does it come with a flush handle cover? ; )
